RESERVE OF THE BIÓSFERA OF THE YUNGAS
La Posada del Sol is within the area of the Reserve
of the Biósfera of the Yungas, that was declared in November of
2002 by the Program “Hombre and biosphere "(MAB) of UNESCO
the United Nations for the Education, Science and the Culture. Being 11ma.
Reserve of Argentina and 2da. of the Province of Jujuy.
THAT THEY ARE THE RESERVES OF THE BIÓSFERA?
They are terrestrial or representative aquatic atmosphere areas created
to promote and to demonstrate to a relation balanced between the human
beings and the nature, contributing to satisfy the necessities with the
present generations without jeopardizing the necessities of the future
generations.
FUNCTIONS OF THE RESEVAS OF BIOSPHERE
- To foment the economic, cultural and social development at local level,
maintaining the resources natural so that they can continue being taken
advantage of by generations.
- Conservation of the diversity of landscapes, ecosystems, species and
genes.
- Contribution to conocieminto supporting to the education, qualification,
scientific research and the exchange of information between settlers,
technicians and investigators.

WHY A BIOSPHERE RESERVE IN
THE YUNGAS?
- In order to improve the quality of life, to know and to respect the
restlessness, necessities and projects of the licales populations.
- In order to create an ample participativo frame helping to satisfy
the necessities with each group culture.
- In order to assure the provision water, in quality and amount, at
regional level.
- In order to preserve discharge biodiversity and to maintain the ecosystems
healthy.
- In order to preserve and to protect the unique landscaping resources
and great cultural diversity.
- In order to help to solve some threats like the fragmentation of the
natural landscape and the loss of the native forest.
BENEFICIARIES:
- All the society.
- The local populations, indigenous groups, Creole, propietary farmers
of fields, because their territories can be gotten up to a handling
that allows to protect the ground and the water like basic resources.
- And the global regional community.

Approximated total surface of the
reserve: 1.660.000 have, of which:
- 45% are forests
- 32% pastizales of height
- 0.13% barbechos agricultural parcels and of migratory agriculture

The rural population consists of approximately
1,500 families and 6,600 inhabitants.

The river basin of the Bermejo river has influence
in approximately 200,000 has of located agricultural earth
in zones bordering to the RBY.
